TURKPA attended round table on Legislative Branch

On 19 March 2024, Deputy Secretary General Talgat Aduov attended a round table entitled "The Legislative Branch: Transformation and New Guidelines" organized by the Presidential Center of the Department of Presidential Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Astana.

The event brought together parliamentarians, experts, representatives of the scientific community, development institutions and civil society organizations, faculty and students of universities.

Delivering opening remarks, Director of the Presidential Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Temirbolat noted the importance of the legislative branch in the formation of the necessary legal infrastructure for the observance of law and order in Kazakhstani society.

In the course of the round table, participants discussed the main problems of institutionalization of the supreme legislative body at various historical stages, prospects for the development of parliamentarism in Kazakhstan in the process of modernization of the entire socio-political system, as well as the role of representative bodies in the legal enforcement of the principle of "Law and Order".

Deputy Secretary General Talgat Aduov also delivered a speech at the round table. Mr. Aduov informed the event participants about the activities of TURKPA. He touched on the importance of the issue of transformation of the legislative power in the context of sustainable socio-political development of Turkic states. He noted that as the parliamentary dimension of Turkic cooperation, TURKPA carried out a significant mission to qualitatively strengthen parliamentarism and develop political dialogue in the Turkic world.
