Young Parliamentarians Group
 

The Young Parliamentarians Group of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA) was established during the Ninth Plenary Session of TURKPA held on 18 December 2019 in Baku in order to promote the cooperation among the member parliaments on issues related to youth development and empowerment as one of the main priorities of the 2030 Agenda of Sustainable Development.

The Group's agenda addresses issues related to the implementation of the following initiatives on strengthening the role of young people in society, their participation in social, economic and political life and their participation in decision-making mechanisms in the TURKPA member states. The Group aims to encourage participation of young parliamentarians in the work of the Assembly, as well as in the work of international organizations in order to create the solid network of young individuals.

The Group is composed of the Head of the Group assigned by the TURKPA Chairperson-in-Office for the period of his/her Chairmanship and members assigned by the Parties for each meeting on an ad-hoc basis.

The Group adopts its relevant documents at the ordinary meetings held within the framework of TURKPA plenary sessions in the host countries.
