On 3 June 2022, Mr. Yerlan Koshanov, Chairman-in-Office of TURKPA, Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, received Secretary General Mr. Mehmet Süreyya Er who visited Nur-Sultan in the framework of the TURKPA Referendum Observation Mission.
Head of Parliament noted that Kazakhstan was entering a new stage in the history of its independence. He mentioned the holding of referendum in Kazakhstan on Constitutional amendments as a historic decision necessitated by the demands of time and society.
Touching the significance and role of Kazakhstan in the region, Secretary General expressed his conviction that the referendum would be a milestone in the further development of the country and wished success in holding the referendum.
The parties exchanged views on the current and future activities of the Assembly, and discussed the preparations for the upcoming Eleventh Plenary Session to be held in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyz Republic, on 23-24 June 2022, during which the TURKPA Strategic Roadmap 2023-2028 is also expected to be adopted.
