Participants of Conference “Protection of Human Rights in TURKPA Member States” visited Shusha
On 24 May 2022, parliamentarians and ombudsmen of Turkic states, as well as representatives of the member parliaments, ombudsman institutions of the member states and TURKPA Secretariat participating at the Conference entitled “Protection of Human Rights in TURKPA Member States” visited city of Shusha - the Cultural Capital of Azerbaijan and Cultural Capital of the Turkic World for 2023.
The guests were informed on the history of Shusha, historical, cultural and religious heritage, damages during occupation and restoration work carried out in the city. During the visit, the guests were acquainted with Shusha fortress walls, City Square, “Jidir” plain and Mausoleum of the eminent Azerbaijani poet Molla Panah Vagif.
Within the framework of the visit, the participants of the Conference were also acquainted with the Fuzuli International Airport, known as the air gateway to Karabakh that was built and became operational in 8 months.
The Conference under the theme “Protection of Human Rights in TURKPA Member States” is co-organized by the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, TURKPA and Ombudsman Institution of the Republic of Azerbaijan on 25 May in Baku. The Conference is also devoted to 20th anniversary of Ombudsman Institution of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
