TURKPA took part at the 8th Meeting of National Commissions for UNESCO of TURKSOY Member States
On 13-14 May 2022, Deputy Secretary General Fuad Alakbarov attended the 8th Meeting of National Commissions for UNESCO of TURKSOY Member States in Bursa, Türkiye.
The meeting was co-organized by TURKSOY, Turkish National Commission for UNESCO and Bursa Metropolitan Municipality in the framework of the events carried out in Bursa, the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World 2022. Representatives of National Commissions for UNESCO of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Mongolia, as well as representatives of TURKPA, Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, Turkic Academy and IRCICA participated in the meeting.
TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev, President of Turkish National Commission for UNESCO Prof. Dr. Öcal Oğuz, Deputy Mayor of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Murat Demir, Secretary General of Kyrgyz National Commission for UNESCO Sabira Soltongeldieva, as well as representatives of stakeholder institutions and international organizations delivered speeches during the opening ceremony.
At the end of the opening session, the Term Presidency from the Kyrgyz National Commission for UNESCO handed over to Türkiye. Following the handover ceremony Deputy Secretary General Fuad Alakbarov along with other participants were awarded with a special gift presented by TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev. Seminars entitled "Intangible Cultural Heritage", "Cultural and Natural Heritage", "Memory of the World and Education" were held during the second session, while the participants discussed the topics related to the status of cultural heritage, current problems and future joint work.
The event concluded with the presentation of the working reports.
