Secretary General met with TİKA Program Coordinator in Bishkek
On 12 January 2022, TURKPA delegation headed by Secretary General Mehmet Süreyya Er visited the Program Coordination Office of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) in Bishkek. Program Coordinator Osman Usta informed Secretary General on the significant projects implemented by TİKA in the Kyrgyz Republic and its future activities.
Secretary General stressed the importance of work done by TİKA Program Coordination Office in Bishkek that contributed to the social welfare of the Kyrgyz people.
The TURKPA delegation got acquainted also with the building of the Kyrgyz-Turkish Friendship Hospital, which is one of the largest projects launched by TİKA and specialized, particularly, in cardiology, as well as performed high-tech medical operations.
TİKA was first established in 1992 as an organization for providing technical assistance to support the Turkic States in Central Asia and Caucasia after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Since 2002, however, in line with multi-dimensional foreign policy of Turkish Government, aid activities have been expanded to encompass almost all developing countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America. Today, TİKA works in more than 150 countries through its 62 Programme Coordination Offices located in 60 countries across 5 continents.
