Turkish Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism visited Secretariat
On 28 June 2021, the delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey Mr. Ahmet Misbah Demircan visited the TURKPA Secretariat and met with Secretary General Mr. Altynbek Mamaiusupov.
Secretary General welcomed the guests and briefed on the current and future activities of the Assembly. Noting the work carried out within the Assembly in this context, particularly the sixth meeting and workshop of the Commission on Social, Cultural and Humanitarian Affairs on the legislation on cinema and animation in the Turkic-speaking countries and its rapprochement, held in 2018 and 2020 respectively, Secretary General stressed the draft model laws on “Attracting Foreign Investments in Cinematography and Production of Audiovisual Works” and “Cinematography” to be adopted at the next Plenary Session.
The parties noted the key role of cinema, animation and cartoons in educating and passing on Turkic heritage and values to next generations. They discussed the prospects for cooperation between the Assembly and the Ministry, having also exchanged views on the issues of mutual interest.
