TURKPA delegation visited Uzbekistan
On 22 June 2021, TURKPA delegation led by the Chairman of the TURKPA Commission on Legal Affairs and International Relations and member of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Mr. İsmet Uçma, held meetings with the First Deputy Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Mr. Sodik Safoyev and Vice-Speaker of the Legislative Chamber the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Mr. Alisher Kadyrov.
Deputy heads of Parliament welcomed the delegation and highly appreciated the role of TURKPA in the development of parliamentary cooperation. They noted that Uzbekistan attaches special importance to the development of political and economic cooperation in the region, particularly to the promotion of investment, improvement of the economic and business climate.
In turn, the delegation stressed the significance of Uzbekistan for the Turkic world and in the sustainable development of the region.
The parties also discussed the possible accession of Uzbekistan to the Assembly in the near future and exchanged views on the current state and prospects of cooperation between Turkic-speaking countries.
