Secretary General addressed Youth Summit “Turkestan – the cradle of the Turkic world”
On 22 June 2021, Secretary General Altynbek Mamaiusupov addressed the plenary session of the Youth Summit held under the theme “Turkestan – the cradle of the Turkic world”, in an online format.
The event organized with support of the Ministry of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan brings together youth leaders and activists of the Turkic-speaking countries.
The plenary session of the Summit was addressed by Chairperson of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. Maulen Ashimbayev, Minister of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mrs. Aida Balayeva, as well as heads of Turkic cooperation organizations.
Mr. Maulen Ashimbayev noted the special role of Turkestan in the history of the Turkic world. He touched on the significance of youth participation in the cooperation between Turkic-speaking countries and noted that in the age of science and technology, the youth has a special responsibility in these processes as descendants and representatives of the great civilization.
In his speech, Secretary General Altynbek Mamaiusupov noted that Turkestan is developing rapidly thanks to the attention of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev and efforts of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on promotion and global presentation of Turkic heritage and culture. He mentioned that TURKPA attaches particular importance to the active participation of youth in decision-making and stressed the role of youth in further development of cooperation among the member countries.
