Secretary General attended Antalya Diplomacy Forum

Secretary General Altynbek Mamaiusupov took part at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum held under the theme “Innovative Diplomacy: New Era, New Approaches” on 18-20 June 2021.

Secretary General took part in the discussions on increasing the effectiveness of international organizations. He commented on the role of inter-parliamentary organizations and their effectiveness in the international relations system, having emphasized the significance of the parliamentary diplomacy that provide flexible instruments for dialogue and integration. Mr. Mamaiusupov stressed on the need for closer interaction between international institutions.

On the Forum's sidelines, Secretary General met with Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the member countries – Mr. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu (Turkey), Mr. Jeyhun Bayramov (Azerbaijan), Mr. Mukhtar Tileuberdi (Kazakhstan), Mr. Ruslan Kazakbaev (Kyrgyz Republic), Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Mr. Akif Çağatay Kılıç, PABSEC Secretary General Asaf Hajiyev, Secretary General of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly Mr. Mohammad Reza Majidi, as well as heads of Turkic cooperation organizations to discuss the issues of mutual interest.

Antalya Diplomacy Forum is a high-level meeting of political leaders, parliamentarians, ministers, diplomats, heads and representatives of international organizations, various institutions and academic circles.

On 18 June, President of the Republic of Turkey Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey Mr. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu addressed the Forum.

The program of the event featured thematic debates covering a range of significant regional and global issues. The participants exchanged views on issues related to regional cooperation, security, energy, parliamentary diplomacy, effectiveness of regional organizations, gender and sustainable development.
