On 4 May 2021, Secretary General Mr. Altynbek Mamaiusupov met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Mr. Yavuz Selim Kıran. Member of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and Vice-Chairman of the TURKPA Commission on Environment and Natural Resources Mr. Recep Şeker also took part in the meeting.
The parties discussed the Kyrgyz-Tajik conflict that resulted in many deaths and injuries among civilians, as well as possible means of assistance in this context.
Secretary General, in particular, informed on the situation that led to border clashes. In his turn, Mr. Kıran reaffirmed the readiness of Turkey to provide comprehensive assistance.
Interaction within the framework of Turkic institutional cooperation was also discussed during the meeting.
