Workshop on Harmonization of Member Countries' National Legislation held in Istanbul
On 31 October 2019, the Fourth Workshop on Harmonization of the National Legislation of the TURKPA member countries was held in Istanbul and attended by parliamentarians, heads of Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation and Turkish National Commission for UNESCO, as well representatives of the member parliaments and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey.
The meeting was opened by speeches of Mr. İsmet Uçma, Chairman of the TURKPA Commission on Legal Affairs and International Relations, member of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (GNAT), Mr. Nabi Avcı, member of the GNAT, former Minister of Culture and Tourism of Turkey, Ms. Gunay Afandiyeva, President of Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, Mr. Öcal Oğuz, President of the Turkish National Commission for UNESCO and continued with sessions during which the participants were informed on the work done towards protection of the intangible cultural heritage by the relevant institutions. The participants conducted discussion and exchanged views on the draft model laws on Protection of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Turkic World and on Tourism presented by the representatives of the Turkish and Azerbaijani parliaments respectively.
