Seventh Summit of Turkic Council held in Baku

Secretary General Mr. Altynbek Mamaiusupov participated at the Seventh Summit of the Turkic Council held on 15 October 2019 in Baku under the theme "Enhancing small and medium-sized enterprises". The Summit hosted by H.E. Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was attended by H.E. Nursultan Nazarbayev, First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy, H.E. Sooronbai Jeenbekov, President of the Kyrgyz Republic, H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of the Republic of Turkey, H.E. Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as H.E. Purli Agamyradov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkmenistan, as a guest, H.E. Viktor Orban, Prime Minister of Hungary, as an observer and heads of Turkic cooperation institutions.

The Summit was marked by the 10th anniversary of the Nakhchivan Agreement on the establishment of the Turkic Council and by significant decisions, such as accession of Uzbekistan, as a full-fledged member, to the Organisation, signing of supplementary documents on the activities of the European office of the Turkic Council in Budapest. H.E. Nursultan Nazarbayev was awarded the title of the Honorary Chairman of the Turkic Council.

The Heads of State were informed on the activities carried out by the Turkic Council since the last Sixth Summit and expressed their views on further development of relations and expanding multifaceted cooperation between Turkic-speaking countries.

The Summit was concluded with signing of the Baku Declaration of the Seventh Summit of the Turkic Council by the Heads of State.
