TURKPA attended meeting of Council of Foreign Ministers

TURKPA delegation headed by Secretary General Mr. Altynbek Mamaiusupov attended the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Turkic Council on 14 October 2019 in Baku held within the framework of the 7th Summit of the Turkic Council.

Foreign Ministers of the Turkic Council member countries, as well as Uzbekistan and Hungary, and heads of Turkic cooperation institutions attended the meeting.

After the successful conclusion of the Chairmanship, the Kyrgyz side handed it over to the Republic of Azerbaijan.

In his speech, Secretary General extended congratulations on the 10th anniversary of the Nakhchivan Agreement and assessed the full-fledged participation of Uzbekistan in the Turkic Council as a new page in the history of Turkic cooperation institutions. Noting the shape of common legal and regulatory space as a base for any integration process, Mr. Mamaiusupov stressed the role of parliamentary diplomacy in the contemporary world and the role of TURKPA in these processes.

The Ministers finalized the relevant documents and the Summit Declaration to be signed by the Presidents of the Member States at the Heads of State Council to be held on 15 October.

Following the event, opening ceremony of the new office of International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation was held with participation of Foreign Ministers and heads of Turkic cooperation institutions.
