TURKPA participated in opening ceremony of Osh – 2019 Cultural Capital of Turkic World
Deputy Secretary General Mr. Nauryz Aidarov participated in the opening ceremony of the Osh – 2019 Cultural Capital of the Turkic World held on 20 April 2019.
The opening ceremony was attended by ministers, parliamentarians, representatives of diplomatic missions of the member countries, representatives of international organizations and guests from various parts of the Turkic world.
In his opening speech, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. Sooronbai Jeenbekov stressed the importance of the decision of TURKSOY to proclaim the ancient city of Osh as the cultural capital of the Turkic World for the people of Kyrgyzstan and noted that the highest duty of preserving culture, cultural diversity, tolerance, moral values, unity and peace was assumed by the city of Osh.
Following the opening speeches, the ceremony continued with music and dance performances by more than 250 artists from 12 countries and ended with colourful fireworks.
