Secretary General Altynbek Mamaiusupov participated in the research-to-practice conference dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic and took place on 21 December 2018 in Bishkek under the theme “80 years of Jogorku Kenesh: analysis and prospects of legislation”. The opening part of the conference was addressed by the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. Sooronbai Jeenbekov, Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. Dastanbek Dzhumabekov and other dignitaries.
Mr. Mamaiusupov conveyed a message on behalf of the TURKPA Chairman-in-Office and Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Mr. Binali Yildirim. In his message, GNAT Speaker noted that Turkey is one of the first countries recognized Kyrgyzstan’s independence in 1991 and bilateral relations between the two countries during these 27 years has only been rapidly developing, including growing interaction between the parliaments. Head of the Turkish Parliament also praised an important role of the Jogorku Kenesh at national and international levels and underlined that legislative body is a basis of the constitutional form of government.
The Conference ended with adoption of Resolution that points out the necessity to further develop legislative activity of the Jogorku Kenesh, increase the role of citizens in the work of parliament and study best practices of other countries.
