Diplomatic staff of TURKPA Secretariat visited Jojug Marjanli
On 27 November 2018, TURKPA diplomatic staff comprised of Secretary General Mr. Altynbek Mamaiusupov, Deputies Secretary General Mr. Fuad Alakbarov, Mr. Nauryz Aidarov and Mr. Ali Yıldız, and Secretaries of the TURKPA Commissions Mr. Emin Hasanov and Mr. Kanatbek Kurmanbekov, made a visit to Jojug Marjanli village of Jabrayil district.
The staff met with Mr. Kamal Hasanov, Head of Executive Authority of Jabrayil district, who informed guests on the history of Jojug Marjanli, as well as the works done after retaking the village. Mr. Mamaiusupov, in his turn, praised the work done by the Azerbaijani government for the village and particularly mentioned a unanimous stance of the TURKPA member countries for the territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan that is reflected also in the declarations adopted by the Assembly.
The programme of the staff’s visit included exposure to village and locals, visit to secondary school and to Jojug Marjanli mosque, which is a reminiscent of famous Shusha mosque with symbolic nature.
The first phase of restoration of Jojug Marjanli started with the order of President Ilham Aliyev in January 2017. Within the first phase, 50 individual houses, school, mosque, electric substation, hydrometeorological station, highway and other relevant infrastructure facilities were constructed in Jojug Marjanli being also provided with gas, electricity and water supply.
On 15 June 2017, President Ilham Aliyev signed an order on measures to continue reconstruction works in the Jojug Marjanli village. As the second phase of these works, a presidential order is aimed at building more individual houses and enhancing a structure of the village.
