Informal meeting of Council of Assembly was held in Antalya
On 8 October 2018, an informal meeting of the Council of Assembly was held in Antalya with participation of the Chairman of the Milli Mejlis of Azerbaijan Mr. Ogtay Asadov, Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Mr. Nurlan Nigmatulin, Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh of Kyrgyzstan Mr. Dastanbek Dzhumabekov and Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Mr. Binali Yildirim. The meeting chaired by TURKPA Chairman-in-Office Mr. Dastanbek Dzhumabekov took place on the sidelines of the Third Meeting of Speakers of Eurasian Countries' Parliaments being held with participation of parliamentarians from 39 countries and representatives of international organizations.
The chairs of the TURKPA member parliaments discussed the draft agenda of the upcoming Eighth Plenary Session of TURKPA to take place on 20-21 November 2018 in Izmir, Turkey. The parties also exchanged views on current and future activities of the Assembly and mentioned the positive prospects of TURKPA’s development.
In the course of the meeting, the heads of the parliaments emphasized that TURKPA has made great strides, despite the challenges faced over the past decade and expressed their confidence for further progress in cooperation under the TURKPA umbrella.
