Secretary General met with Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan
On 16 July 2018, Secretary General Altynbek Mamaiusupov met with the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Mukhtar Babayev.
Secretary General congratulated Mr. Babayev on his new appointment to this position and briefed the Minister about current activities and future plans of the Assembly. He also underlined the need to carry out practical and result-oriented cooperative activities with the Ministry, as well as with those relevant state bodies covering cooperation fields under the TURKPA aegis. Secretary General said that TURKPA is ready to contribute to the organization of the joint events be dedicated to the member countries` environmental issues.
Mr. Babayev informed Secretary General about the ongoing activities of the Ministry, having informed also on strategic objectives and tasks of Azerbaijan in the field of environmental protection. He expressed a full support of the Ministry to the TURKPA’s activities in this direction and emphasized that as a former parliamentarian and member of the Azerbaijani delegation to TURKPA he realizes the necessity of close interaction among the Turkic-speaking countries within the parliamentary dimension.
