“The Great Steppe” Third Humanities Forum took place in Astana

On 18 June 2018, “The Great Steppe” Third Humanities Forum organized by the International Turkic Academy, took place in Astana. Humanities forum is an intellectual platform for discussion of the role of the Turkic world in the development of humanity, its cultural and spiritual values.

The forum gathered more than 250 scientists and experts from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Mongolia, China, Russia, Germany, as well as heads of international organizations, representatives of diplomatic corps, state bodies and well-known public figures.

Forum was opened by Mr. Darkhan Kydyrali, President of the International Turkic Academy. The opening ceremony was also addressed by Ms. Gulshara Abdykalikova, Secretary of State of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Sultan Raev, Adviser to the President of the Kyrgyz Republic and Ms. Aygün Attar, Adviser to the President of the Republic of Turkey.

Taking part in the Forum Secretary General Altynbek Mamaiusupov moderated the Plenary Session, in which Mr. Murat Zhurinov, President of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Regdel Duger, President of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, Mr. Mustafa Kaçalin, Chairman of the Turkish Language Association, Mr. Nizami Jafarov, Member of Milli Mejlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Director of Ataturk Center in Azerbaijan, Mr. Oleg Mudrak, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Turkologists Committee of the Department of History and Philology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, made speeches and presentations.

After awarding and signing ceremony, Forum was continued with 6 sections titled “The Revival of Identity of the Great Steppe”, “The Harmony of Civilizations and Urban Culture”, “Literary Relations of Turks: Traditions and Innovation”, “New Opportunities of Turkology”, “Scientific Aspects of Integration: Directions and Future” and “Specific Features of the Turk Statehood Tradition”.
