Secretary General attended Crans Montana Forum on Africa and South-South Cooperation
TURKPA Secretary General Mr. Altynbek Mamaiusupov participated in the Crans Montana Forum on Africa and South-South Cooperation took place in Dakhla, Morocco on 16-20 March, 2018.
The Forum brought together Heads of States and Governments, Ministers, International Organisations, parliamentarians and top representatives of business communities coming from Africa, the South-South region and other various regions.
Plenary sessions on the 21st century main challenges such as urbanization, ocean management, agriculture, sustainable growth, energy, public health, youth and gender equality in parliaments, Africa and Silk Road, migration, climate change gathered more than 2000 participants and 43 international organisations from all over the world.
On 17 March, Secretary General delivered a speech on “The New Silk Road and its potential for the TURKPA member countries and Africa” during the international conference themed “Africa and Silk Road: Stakes and Opportunities for Global Trade”. In his speech, Secretary General informed high level participants about the projects and the role of the TURKPA member countries in realization of the New Silk Road. At the same time, Secretary General touched upon social and cultural benefits of the project.
On the Forum’s sidelines, Secretary General had spoken with President of the Crans Montana Forum Pierre-Emmanuel Quirin, TRACECA Secretary General Mircea Ciopraga, Secretary General of the International Energy Forum Dr. Sun Xiansheng, Ambassador and Founder of the Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia Dr. Dino Patti Djalal and other participants.
Cooperation of TURKPA with the Crans Montana Forum is conducted in the framework of a Memorandum of Understanding signed during the Homeland and Global Security Forum took place in Brussels in 2016.
