Head of IOM office visited TURKPA Secretariat
On 10 January 2018, Secretary General Altynbek Mamaiusupov held meeting with Mr. Serhan Aktoprak, Chief of the mission of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Azerbaijan.
The parties discussed the prospects of cooperation between TURKPA and IOM and emphasized the need to expand relationships among the two organizations based on concrete mechanisms. Mr. Aktoprak noted the importance of granting an observer status to TURKPA in the IOM, as all the TURKPA four member countries are also members of the IOM. Mr. Mamaiusupov, in his turn, set forth a number of proposals on future cooperation between the two institutions in such areas, as environmental challenges of migration, protection of water resources and application of good practices of national policies in this field.
