Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan held meeting with Secretary General
On 29 December 2017, Mr. Elmar Mammadyarov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan received Secretary General Altynbek Mamaiusupov.
Secretary General noted that a growing role of Azerbaijan at the international arena could be a model for the Turkic world and platform for the global dialogue.
At the meeting, Secretary General stressed the role of TURKPA as a main platform in strengthening cooperation of the countries bound by common historical, cultural and ethnic ties and underlined that this cooperation has flexible mechanisms to achieve common goals and consolidate efforts in strengthening peace and security.
Discussing perspective activities of the Assembly and exchanging views over the expansion of cooperation among the member states, both parties also touched upon the cooperation between TURKPA and other inter-parliamentary institutions, as well as the development of interaction among the Turkic-speaking countries within the framework of largest international organizations.
