Dzhumabekov and Erdogan discuss interparliamentary cooperation
Bishkek, Sept. 3, 2018. / Kabar /. Speaker of the Kyrgyz Parliament Dastanbek Dzhumabekov and the leaders of all six parliamentary factions met with visiting Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
A number of issues related to bilateral cooperation, as well as their further development and strengthening was discussed at the meeting. The sides also discussed interparliamentary cooperation, the press service of the Kyrgyz Parliament said.
Dzhumabekov congratulated Erdogan on his election to this post and noted the importance of the official visit of the Turkish delegation to the Kyrgyz Republic.
"I believe that the agreements reached during your visit will further strengthen bilateral relations between our countries. We are united by many things: friendship, close cooperation in many areas. In the future, we must increase mutually beneficial cooperation, which will benefit our countries," the Kyrgyz Speaker said.
During the meeting, the sides also discussed inter-parliamentary cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Turkey. Dzhumabekov stressed that it is necessary to further strengthen the cooperation of parliamentarians within the framework of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Turkic-speaking countries.
In turn, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that strategic cooperation will be strengthened with the support of all branches of power.
"Cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries is gaining momentum and it makes me happy. Our parliamentary corps will work closely with the Jogorku Kenesh," the Turkish President said.
The President of Turkey also conveyed a greeting to the deputies and Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic on behalf of Speaker of the Turkish Parliament Binali Yildirim and the invitation to attend the next meeting of the Turkish PA in November this year.
