TURKPA Secretary General attended international conference dedicated to well-known Hungarian turkologist
The event started with handover ceremony of the private library of Mandoky Kongur Istvan to the Turkic Academy comprising nearly 16 thousand books. Well-known Kazakh writer Abish Kekilbayev and widow of Mandoky Kongur – Aisha officially unveiled the library by cutting the ceremonial ribbon.
While speaking at the conference, TURKPA Secretary General said that thorough study of Mandoky Kongur’s scientific legacy would help increase knowledge of the Turkic world, as well as deepen relations among the Turkic speaking nations. Mr. Asanov also informed participants on the TURKPA’s latest activities in the field of education, science and culture. The Secretary General emphasized the importance of preparing highly skilled Turkic speaking interpreters to achieve greater flow of information among the Turkic speaking countries.
On the conference’s sidelines, Mr. Asanov conversed with the President of the Turkic Academy and Secretary General of TURKSOY, eminent scholars, as well as with the adviser of the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Hungary Mr. Sandor Dorogy. Mr. Asanov discussed with Mr. Dorogy issues of cooperation between TURKPA and Hungarian parliament that has recently obtained an observer status in TURKPA.
